Social media has become the latest gold rush - prospectors running by the dozen to stake their claim and pull nuggets of wealth from the fertile ground of Facebook, Twitter and blogs. But is social media everything it promises to businesses that get involved? Charlie Kondek of PR firm MS&L Digital shares his experiences and perspective from ten years of working in the emergent field of social media-based public relations and marketing and brings it down to the bottom line: what's the ROI in this?
About the Speaker:
Charlie Kondek, director of social media outreach at MS&L Digital, specializes in social media relations and community management and manages web-outreach campaigns and other components of holistic digital PR programs.
His work includes some of the first significant web outreach work in the food category for such clients as General Mills, Weight Watchers brand foods, Nestle and others; home care for Proctor & Gamble; retail and product reviews for Best Buy and Philips Electronics; and numerous others.
Kondek is a founding contributor to WOMMA's Rules of the Road for social media engagement and winner of one of the first "Wommie" Award.
Prior to joining MS&L, Charlie worked in journalism, advertising, and as a freelance writer.
